             6. Look at some of God's views of the man's role in the home.
             I. The Father is to be involved as a teacher.
             A. Almost all scriptures about teaching are addressed to the father .
             Proverbs 4:1-5 Hear ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. (2) For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. (3) For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. (4) He taught me also, and said unto me, let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments and live.
             Deut 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thane house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
             Prov:22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
             7. The Father is a provider for his family.
             1 Tim 5:8 : But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own housem he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
             a. A man should work hard at work and not bring his work home .
             b. The man's life should not be consumed with only work and no time with his family.
             c. This will leave no input from the father.
             d. And in the case of children the Mother or other guardian is left with all the input.
             8. The Father should love and discipline his children.
             a. The Lord has to begin to teach a godly man how to love and discipline his children.
             b. It is a discipline in love and not in anger!.
             1. A difficult task.
             2. God does not want us to be bitter toward our children.
             3. It can effect their spiritual growth as well as their emotional growth.
             c. Traditionally, a lot of us were disciplined with a belt or other things until we could not breath.
