The glamour, triumph, and heartbreak, and the tragedy of his life were genuine; but the most important thing was that he wrote. Everything else matters only to the extent that it explicates his work or clarifies his career. It is impossible to dissociate a great writer from his work; Fitizgerald was one of the most personal authors. .
             The style of his writing was to sum up the Jazz Age like no one else was able to do. The characters in each book would take after some role in his life. The search for love in "Winter Dreams" demonstrates Fitzgerald's search for love in his own life. When looking upon Fitzgerald's novels you can see an insight into his own personal life. The shadowy characters that Francis Scott starts his novels with start to come to life with their personalities unraveling with each passing chapter.
             "The Last Tycoon" was a novel that Fitzgerald was not able to finish due to his death in 1940. This novel was about a complex gifted movie producer who lived in Hollywood. Francis was only able to finish one third of this before his death of a heart attack. Some say it was a biography on his life in Hollywood and his failure to make it in movies but we will never know because it was never finished.
