Princess Diana

Prince Charles was not very sensitive or caring. He cared very much about himself and his appearance. He made Diana feel very insecure and unhappy. After putting his arm around her waist, he said to her "My, we"re getting a little chubby here aren't we?" ( The Day Diana Died,42). She took everything he said so seriously she became bulimic and dropped down from a size 29 to a size 22. She was making herself throw up five to six times a day. Prince Charles did not understand her problems and would not help Diana. Even after Diana did everything she could do to please the prince, he had and affair with a woman named Camilla. This made Diana even more depressed. After an argument with Charles about Camilla, she attempted suicide. She threw herself down a flight of stairs. Prince Charles didn't even visit her in the hospital and told her that she was over dramatizing. The two separated on, December 9, 1992. Even after the threat of divorce to the Prince, he refused to stop his affair with Camilla. "There were three in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded" (The Day Diana Died,41). This lead to divorce. The divorce was final on August 28, 1996.
Diana was shut out by the royal family. After the divorce was final and everything was done, Diana was supposed to keep her royal place as a princess. The Queen had a change of heart and stripped her from all royalty. She was completely disowned by the royals. The Queen even said that since Diana was no longer a royal, that her name was never to be spoken in front of her. She was now hated even more than she already was by the royals. Diana was to be just a "regular" and have no power or authority. She did however, get to keep her home at Kensington Palace. .
Diana Captured the nations hearts. She was just a kind, beautiful at heart, caring person. She was called "The People's Princes". Diana did everything she could for her people. She was not stuck-up and snobbish like the other royals.
