Around January 6, 1412 an extraordinary baby girl was born, in the small town of Domremy in the French country of Lorraine. Her name was Jeanne d" Arc or later to be known as "Joan of Arc" or "the maid".
Joan was the youngest of a family of 5. She was never properly educated, but in her spare time she became an expert in sewing and spinning. She was always seen as a very serious child, who spent most of her time in prayer in the chapel. She always had a special feeling of pride and responsibility with the church.
Joan first became aware of manifestation unto her when she was 13 in the summer of 1425. She referred to them as her "voices" or her "council". At first she could not discern who or what these happenings were. They were just a voice connected with a blinding white light. But later on she became aware that they were individuals. She claims they were St. Michael, St. Margaret, and St. Catherine. .
Joan never made it clear when the voices came to her, only that they came from God. By May 1428, she knew what mission her lord had prepared for her to fulfill. She was going to save France. .
Joan had a manifesting urge to meet or come in touch with Robert Baudri, for her "voices" told her he would help her get to the king, and help her along with her quest.
The situation with the king or Charles the V11 was his military situation with the English was becoming more desperate everyday. In January 1429 Joan left Domremy to start on her way. She went to visit Vaucoleurs. On February 17, She predicted a great French defeat (at the battle of Herring's). 2 days later her prediction would be confirmed. At this point she started on her way to Chinon to seek for the king. On March 8th she was admitted into the royal court. The king was ready for her. He had devised a test to prove her authenticity to the rumors the she was indeed the "Maid" who would save France. He hid among his attendants while another masqueraded to be the king.
