Nervous System

The nervous system is a wonder of the human body; it is the main control of most of the bodies systems, directly, or indirectly. The brain, and its peripheral components, are composed of cells, called neurons. These cells are special, because instead of providing structure, or producing enzymes, neurons handle electricity. Neurons are a type of switch, but they are much more complicated than that. But there are 3 types of neurons, each with a specific job. The Motor neuron is a neuron developed specifically for handling the high voltage used for your muscles; its entire structure is hardened against damage, erratic impulses, etc. Te inter-neuron is just that, an Intermediary Neuron, this type of neuron sits between 2 neurons, and either passes the message, or blocks it, sort of like a referee. This allows it to weed out improper or malformed messages, and sort of manages the body's messages. The brain is made up mostly of interneurons. The last type of neuron is the sensory neuron; this neuron is what makes up your sense organs. These neurons can actually sense what they are supposed to, say, Heat, or Pressure. But you may still be wondering how neurons exactly work, The electricity that is trying to get to its destination must be controlled so that the message is kept in good condition, and the message will get to where it needs to go as quickly as possible. So, neurons have a part on the end of their neurotransmitter called the synapse, where the electricity will be allowed to cross, if it's supposed to. To control the jumping of the electricity, there are small sacs filled with a "jumping" chemical, that are controlled by the cell.
