Marriage

Marriage has and probably always will be a conflicting issue in American society. Some may say it's a learning process and others will say it's a teaching process, but to me it is both learning and a teaching process. Sure as children we blindly fantasize about getting married and running a family by playing games such as "house", mainly its girls who go about playing these games but that doesn't exclude boys. As we grow older and begin to mature the thought of marriage broadens and we are all the sudden realizing the realities of this nation. Two individuals get together and form a family and through faith they try to hard to make it work but continually the divorce rate grows. Could it be the effects of the ever so transition of America to a more socialized state? Could it be the generation of children being born? Could it be our schools somehow slowly teaching the children to learn to grow up more independently? These I don't have the answers to. I am not for the continuance of conventional marriage in America, and I really don't care as to what people want to do with each other whether they are homosexual, heterosexual, or bisexual. I believe in choice and that people have a choice as to who they want to marry.
I don't quite fully understand why a couple needs to get married other than the fact of legality issues involving children, financial decisions and agreements, and certain benefits. Aside from what I can think of marriage is just a title. Maybe for some people it is more than just a title, maybe it makes some feel secure in a relationship. Knowing that your mate has sworn to stay loyal to you can plant a sense of security even though sometimes it will be a false sense. To me I feel that the substance of a relationship is no different after you get married. Sure two become one but that's just all legality issues. If there is a true love between the two then what different love is going to be there after they get married? I don't know though, I have never been there so I and making a blind statement.
