One Little Man, Many Contributions

Although he was a small and modest man, was married at the age of 13, and had his first child by the age of 16, Mohandas Gandhi was arguably one of the greatest, most positive influential people of his century. An entire nation was given its freedom from Great British because of Gandhi's determination and endurance. The life of the influential Mohandas Gandhi instructed many people on the ideas of effective non-violent political resistance and that great rewards come to those who are don't give up on their goals.
Because Gandhi's plan of never complying with what the British wanted was relatively successful, many followed his ways. As a revolutionist, Gandhi was able to force the British into granting India her own personal freedom by rallying up the entire country to strike and protest against the European country. As shown in the movie, the residents of India burned all cloth that was made in Britain to show that they were not dependent on the country's products, they made salt which was illegal to do, and they also stood up to military forces and were beaten just to show that they could stand up to anything the British threw at them and could win without laying a single hand upon an opposing soldier. .
Mahatma Gandhi was not only an effective leader in India, but his trials persuaded many people to stand up for what they wanted. Several famous groundbreaking individuals drew their inspiration from the actions of Mohandas Gandhi. Two men in particular, Nelson Mandela and Dr. Marin Luther King Jr., lead ethnic uprisings against their government to make the life of their people more suitable and balanced between races. .
Nelson Mandela grew up in South Africa under the Apartheid system of government in which one could be arrested for using the wrong drinking fountain because of the color of your skin, a man who has same job as his neighbor was paid less in a year than the other man made in a week just for being the wrong race, and where the government would tell the public that they thought the ancestors of black citizens and their ways of living was wrong (Trussell).
