Argentina


             It is a little less than three-tenths the sixe uf the US. The climate there is mostly temperate, arid in the southeast, and subantartic in south west. Argentinas main industries are food processing , motor vehicles, cunsumer durables, textiles, chemicals and petrochemicals, printing, metallurgy, and steel. They do have internet access there.They gained there independence from Spain in 1816.
             What do you think about when you here the words " Christmas in Argentina"? There are a couple christmas traditions that are about the same as ares, they open presents, have christmas trees decorated, the females cook the food. Most the food is the same as ares,Roasted turkey, roasted pork, stuffed tomatoes,mince pies, and christmas bread and pudding.
             They have a nice well thought up government. their flag has three equal horizontal bands of light blue in the top, white, light blue. Centered in the white band is a radient yellow sun with a human face known as the Sum of May. They are republic. The capital of Argentina is Buenos Aires. the 9th of July 1816 Argentina gained independence from spain. A national holiday is Revolution day, which is May 25 1810.
             Carnival is Argentinas largest celebrations. This is a celebration just before lent, the traditional period of fasting the beings about siz weeks before Easter. Each region has it own way the celebrate carnival. In the northern province of salta, people dress up and dance the zamba and the carnavalito. In the northeastern provinces, poeple sing songs called chamam accompanied by accordians or harps.
             Argentina was more interesting than I believed it to be. I really thought that is was a country with no real civilization. The thing that was really cool was that Argentina celebrates christmas about the same way we do.
