Causing standard of living to rise for those surviving the Black Death. Since so many had died during the plague, the peasants now unlike before had a wide range of options for work. They demanded higher wages, as well as better working conditions. Prices for many things dropped because of less demand while prices rose for those things that were specially crafted. The nobility did not like many of the changes that were taking place and tried to intervene laws that would keep the workers from changing jobs to frequently and setting wage limits. .
             Also affected greatly was religion; the Black Death left survivors mourning, depressed and fearful of its return. This was not unjustified since if did return in various locations, but never to the extent it had in 1347-1350. The church's power weakened dramatically during the epidemic. The most common belief was that the plague had been sent by God and that it was his punishment for the sins of humankind. People felt that the church had let them down, however most depended heavily on religion to get them through the difficulties of those times. The decline in the clergy contributed to the growing weaknesses of the church. .
             Christianity ,however, reigned during this time period because during the times of pestilence the Christians remained to care for the sick; this was considered a religious duty. Along with taking care of the sick the Christians based their teachings of death as something desirable as a "relief from suffering.".
             Many of us are dying in this mortality that is many of us are being freed from this world. This mortality is a bane to the Jews and pagans and enemies of Christ; to the servants of God it is a salutary departure. .
             Also in response to the profound effects of the Bubonic plague quarantine laws and safety precautions were made with the formation of the lazzarettos and travel bans that prohibited interations with infected regions.
