With the birds chirping soft songs in the distance, clear, blue skies, and the dark reds and browns in the dirt beneath me, I felt the wide-open spaces liberate me from the harsh stress I had from home. The breathtaking view right in front of my eyes and the massiveness of the land built up all around me left me in awe. Just taking in a chest full of the cool, crisp air that the breezes left behind was like taking a breath for the very first time. It was enough to forget about the never-ending thoughts of how much I despised those irritating voices I heard at home that made me feel as if I was wrong about everything. Like a dream come true all the weight was lifted. The petite wildflowers at my feet made me think of all the little, insignificant things in life aren't all that unimportant. .
I was just relaxing when whispering of a north breeze blows through my hair. Wandering around the endless rows of Aspens and sharp rigid boulders I realize that this vacation was well worth it. The Rocky Mountains are an amazing result of nature happening over time. The view takes you to a dream world and suddenly, you"re taken over by extreme nirvana. .
The car pulls up along the mountain side road waking me up out of my conscious dream; a signal to reload and drive back along the dangerously, narrow roads that lead back to our hotel. My dad patiently waits in the van as the rest of my family gets one last eyeful of the puffy, powdery clouds up above, high snow-capped peaks, and the deep valleys that house much of the vegetation in that area. We sadly come down out of our imaginations and leave with the memories of a place we will never forget.
I loved being together with my family and being able to enjoy so much in such little time. I"m much closer to them and hopefully we will be able to do it once more.
