Pyramids at Giza

How could the Egyptians know that the meridian running through the pyramids divides the continents and oceans into two equal halves and is at the center of gravity for the continents? Eric von Daniken states that, "Today in the twentieth century, no architect could build a copy of the pyramid of Cheops, even if the technical resources of every continent were at his disposal." Also, Daniken argues that to assemble this pyramid it would take thousands of industrious workers 664 years to move the 2.6 million blocks. Eric von Daniken is a strong believer of other life forms and he is unable to accept the fact that a civilization from such a long period of time is capable of things we still are not. For him aliens are the only answer.
             Davidovits believes the Egyptians were really mad scientists and were able to cast the stones on the spot from moulds. This would explain the preciseness of each block and how they were laid so close to each other. Davidovits states that "We know they [Egyptians] had the technology to make wine, beer and vinegar, not to mention their expertise in mummification. Perhaps they learned to cast stone as well." To determine if his theory was possible Davidovits made artificial limestone and compared it to that used in the pyramid. The results were extremely similar. Davidovits also comments that, "There are no murals of the time showing the ramps and sleds that were supposedly used to move the blocks." The earliest accounts of ramps were 800 years after the pyramids were built. Even if ramps were used they would have to be massive a construction challenge in itself. So considering there is no evidence in the Egyptian art of sleds and ramps Davidovits believes that the pyramid stones are artificial and were moulded on the spot by the Egyptians.
             Clifford Wilson presents the most convincing and accepted theory that the Egyptians used men and intelligence to build the incredible monuments at Giza.
