the optimist's daughter

The novel "Animal Farm", written by George Orwell illustrates that being independent isn't as great as it seems and that sometimes life can be better when you have somebody to look after you, whether they"re evil or not. The animals struggle to get rid of their neglectful, drunken farmer, but when they finally do, they realize life isn't as great as they thought it would be. Instead, the pigs take control and overpower the other animals of the farm, much like Mr. Jones did. Freedom is nothing more than a dream because no matter what happens, there will always be somebody who believes they are better and will do whatever it takes to dominate and overpower everybody else. .
Mr. Jones was the farmer of Manor Farm. He was cruel and left the animals hungry and the cows without milking. He neglected them for days at a time. The animals hated life with Mr. Jones and wanted to get rid of him. They were given a speech by a highly respected pig on the farm, Old Major. He told them that no animal knew what it meant to be free in England and that someday there would be a rebellion against the humans. He described to them what life would be like without people like Mr. Jones around, and it inspired the animals to have the same dream of freedom as he had. They did not know how or when the rebellion would take place; all they knew is that it would happen someday.
It happened one day not too long after Old Major's speech. Unfortunately, Old Major has passed away and was not there to witness and be a part of it. Mr. Jones had stopped feeding the animals because he was too lazy and drunk to bother with it. They went hungry for days and the cows went without milking. The animals became so angry that they attacked Mr. Jones. He was so scared that him and Mrs. Jones ran out of the farmhouse and left the farm for good. .
The animals were so happy that they were finally free. They could do whatever they pleased and weren't forced to work every second of everyday.
