Joey is Chandler's roommate who is a failed actor. Every single show he auditions for he gets turned down except for parts such as "dying man no.3- or "Al Pachino's butt-. He goes out with multiple girlfriends constantly and never gets caught. Phoebe is the hippy/crazy/mellow person on the show. Her mom killed herself in the stove and her dad threw himself off of a building. She has an evil twin sister that she despises because she always gets Phoebe in trouble. One season she offered to have her brother's babies from a test tube, since the brother's girlfriend can't have babies. To settle her life down she plays the guitar and sings like a dying squirrel. Her love life is not as hormone crazy like the others, but when she has one, it is long term. Monica is Ross's little sister. In her high school days she was the fattest girl in the school; even the hockey team had a nickname for her, Big Fat Goalie. Monica severed Chandler's toe on accident when she was flirting with him back in high school. She then lost her weight and dated a man who Ross said "was like a brother to Dad-. She then fell in love with Chandler during the season and married him. Rachael is the wild one of the bunch. She left her fiancée at the alter and lived with Monica, her old best friend. She never had feelings for Ross until I think he showed her that he had a problem too. She dated weird Italian guys and with random people she meets on the streets. This past season she had Ross' baby and was afraid of having the baby and taking care of it all by her self.
The strange characters in the show bring on more conflict to the story. For example, Mr.Finkel who made the very weird conversation with Rachael:.
Rachael: Excuse me is this your cat.
Finkel: Yes, that's B-Bob B-B-Buttons, Bob Buttons.
R: Bob Buttons?.
F: Yeah, now give me my cat.
R: You don't have cats do you?.
F: I could have cats.
R: You're such an evil man.
