Though I have always known that I wanted to teach, I have had a few experiences that have solidified my desire to educate future generations. One of the most memorable occurred when I was a senior in high Given the differences in age, grade and material that the girls were learning, I tried to find ways to integrate each girl's difficulty with reading into one lesson which not only would be enjoyable, but beneficial to all of them. .
One way in which this was done was with phonics. The girls enjoyed the game and would even play it with their mother after I had left for the night. It was enjoyable to see that each girl not only improved her skills, and that they were able to help each other out, but that they had fun as well. .
This experience had a major influence on my decision to enter the teaching profession. I had a part in helping the girls move onward and upward in their skills, and it was pleasurable to see their excitement in what they had accomplished. Whenever they would bring home a test or a paper or even a regular assignment that they had done well on, it made my day to see how proud they were of their success. To be a teacher means that I will have numerous opportunities to watch students learn and grow, and to me, that is the most exhilarating experience one could have.
