Dominican culture

Food I think really plays an important role in life. As gotten older in life and experiencing new things in life I found out that food or having a good meal changes the way I act especially the most important meal of the day breakfast. Breakfast can always alter the way I feel in the morning. If I don't" eat a good breakfast I wouldn't be able to function well in my first period classes. At home things are very different because I always know that I will have a good breakfast at school is very hard for me to eat breakfast because most of the time stay very late and wake up not on time for breakfast because I wake up so late. .
At home my mother usually makes all types of meals for us. But there is one in particular that is basically sort of a tradition she makes because of our culture. And has to so with a lot of plantains. Is called a "mangu". Is made out of plantains smashed up and also salami and olive oil. I love this meal it may not sound good but when you try anyone would love it. It is something that everyone makes in Dominican Republic. Whenever I go home I make sure that my mother makes this meal because it's something that look forward to eating when I go home. We Dominicans are known for eating a lot of plantains I don't really know why but that is one of our primary foods that we eat. Me personally don't really enjoy eating that much for the simple fact that I sometimes get really tired of them. This meal brings my family together all the time. So this is something that my mother looks forward on cooking all the time. This meal is part of the rich and great Spanish culture that I derive from and always proud of it.
