Compare/Contrast of Huckleberry Finn

Now that I've completed The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, I have a much broader perspective on all of the underlying .
meanings within this story! The first half of this book is completely dedicated to the similar struggles that Huck and.
Jim face separately and then builds on their bond and growing relationship as they face different adversities. Huck .
spends the first part of the book wanting to escape his abusive and poverty stricken home, while Jim is attempting his.
own escape to prevent himself from being sold to a farmer in the south. It's ironic how both of them are successful in .
their flights, even though neither is aware of the other's misery adn circumstances. So it suits the story well to have.
them reunite and form that connection that will take the readers on an endless and always exciting journey!.
I will assume many readers focus on the deep friendship that the two characters possess (as it's an obvious plot), but .
I want to focus on something a little different - the river. This river is truly part of the foundation in this story.
It is the guiding light necessary for these men to continue their journey. It is the shelter they so desperately need.
during the day. It is the freedom both of these beings so longingly crave and seek. And it is the one thing in this .
book that remains a constant in both the first and second halves.
I really like how the first half of the book was filled with examples and situations of Huck and Jim building their.
relationship and a bond that could never be broken - no matter what the situation. At this opint, we're feeling that the trust is so strong between these two that they are both safe in their escapes and will keep their secrets between them.
I did not enjoy the second half of the book when Mr. Twain introduced the Duke and the King. I thought the very first adventure when they tricked the town into their magician acts was very cleverly written and it was fun to read.
