Does a painter with a camera c

The question that people are asking lately is does a painter with a camera cheat? People think that artists who use things like lenses, cameras, and photographs are not capturing an original image. The dependence on these optical aids makes it difficult for the artist to include effects that make the piece interesting.
One of the first to make the claims that artists are getting help from these machines was David Hockney, who wrote a book claiming that artists did use lenses. And he said that they had been for a while. The only thing was no one wanted to fess up to this idea. Hockney claimed that famous painters had been doing this for a while and that their was nothing wrong with it. Hockney even did it himself.
Thomas Eakins, a painter from the late 19th century used photographs he took himself to paint from. He did not try to hide the fact that he used photographs. People had thought the death of painting was when the camera was invented. They began to ask the question why they should get a painting when a camera could do just as good job.
The main thing that people wonder about is if they are being tricked. They can't tell if a painting is done freehand or the artist used an aid to help him create the work. The technology of today is also being questioned as taking the job of traditional artists, who created their works without any help. People like the effects that the artists include that a photograph cannot account for.
