George Orwell's Animal Farm

It states that all animals are equal. I find this to be the most democratic commandment of all. Also what I found to be very democratic about their society is that there are multiple parties in control of their society. This gives the chance for debate in their government. I believe that debating is essential to any democratic society. It gives the people the chance to see other points of views; therefore good judgements can be made upon important issues of a society. But there is a downside. Since there is a lot of debating and discussion in the book, especially between Napoleon and Snowball, and because the animals are divided into two groups favouring either Napoleon or Snowball, not much can be done. The process is therefore slow and time consuming, but in my opinion this is the only method to get things done. By debating and discussing I believe that in the end the results are always well thought out and well executed because everyone has had time to access the issue. I have encountered many people when working in groups that refuse to discuss issues and prefer to act instantly. It is my opinion, everyone should have an input in decisions that have made as a community, and that everyone's point of view is heard and considered. This is the only fair and just way. It might be tedious, but I believe it is the only ethical way of obtaining a goal or resolving an issue as a group.
I want to read on because I sense that things are going to change for the worse. I foresee a dangerous future for the animals. The pigs seem to be taking over control of the farm because of their intelligence, but they are also getting very greedy. The withhold food from the other animals, and they avoid a lot of the labour around the farm. I believe that soon enough the other animals will start to question the leadership of the pigs. There is also increasing aggression between Snowball and Napoleon, Napoleon seems to be a very aggressive leader.
