The technology at my current job allows me to be very productive and efficient decreasing my stress level. Everything needed to accomplish the job at hand is right at our fingertips. .
My typical day starts with me checking my voice mail for any messages that may have been missed; my current job requires me to work with other navy departments from other time zones I find having this option to be very beneficial. Before I commenced my morning meeting with my staff I scan my e-mail for any information that may be needed to pass and to check for any assignments that may have been handed down from my superiors. I also carry a cell phone and pager for commutation purposes when out of the office to be able to be reached or the reach anyone when needed in today's business world. I use my computer for almost ever task that is required of me to perform it has the most resent software that enables me to process documents using word, excel, access and power point for presentations when required. I maintain all my weekly and monthly reports in a file so it is just a matter of changing names or numbers when it is time for there submission. The use of video at the command is very interesting no longer is the need for individuals to drive or fly to make it to a meeting they can now participate from just about anywhere in the world not only is this process coast effective in very time saving.
When I look back and remember when I first joined the navy and think about just how much has changed and how much easer my job is now that we all have this new technology.
