Jackie Robinson

Nothing can be achieved without trying. Although this person that has a natural talent seems successful he has not achieved much since he has not put any effort in his work. There is a much larger sense of gratification out of knowing you achieved your goals all by yourself even if it's not the same quality of those that steal ideas. .
Living by this quote would enable all of your actions to have meaning. You would start doing things for you, not just because other people want you to. There would be effort involved in the things you did. If one was to live by this he might not accomplish as much as he used to be able to but that is acceptable because the work he is doing now has a purpose and is of better quality. "It's quality over quantity", meaning that God would rather have you put time, thought, and effort in your work and make it the best you are capable, rather then getting it done just so it makes God happy. Christians live this life to the fullest extent. They believe that life is a religious experience which leads to God's creative purpose and in order to fulfill the wish of Jesus, which was to spread the good news, they tried, and still do today, to live their life in the best way possible that reflects Jesus. A Christian, when faced with a problem in life would look upon it and say "I shall live my life in the best way I can" and try their best. (Ronald J. Wilkens, 1). When looking at this from a Christian perspective, even though we follow in Jesus" footsteps, it is known that no one will become him. Knowing we will never succeed and actually become Jesus, we keep on trying to be more like him; we try our best to take on his characteristics, which is a perfect example of applying yourself to try.
I have been able to apply this quote to my personal life, as well as most people should be able to. I have been on the Kellenberg gymnastics team for 3 years in a row and somewhat consider myself to be a gymnast.
