In our society, people have focused a majority of their attention towards power and how it is used. As early as currency was founded and reproduced in large amounts their was always crime for such power. Counterfeiting is the act in which one reproduces currency in great numbers. When coins were first made, counterfeiters found a way to reproduces the coins and make a large profit by doing so, with the influx of the amount of currency without the rate of the producing of currency going up, the government knew that there had to be illegal acts at hand. This was the first form of counterfeiting, but not the last. In the future, counterfeiting of dollar bills and even checks and other such currency would be possible. The Secret Service was founded primarily to control the amount of currency as a branch of the Department of Treasury, but this .

             was not their only obligation. Another obligation in which the Secret Service takes much pride in dealing with to this day is the protection the president. In 1902, the Secret Service assumed fulltime duty of protecting the president.

             Two operatives were assigned to fulltime detail of the Whitehouse and all personal inside the building. Also in 1908, President Roosevelt reassigned 8 secret service agents to the Department of Justice. The department in which they formed is now what we call the F.B.I. Although the Secret Service protects the president at first priority, the safety and protection of the whole Whitehouse is also a huge obligation in which they deal with. Many Government officials, other personal and even visitors make daily trips through the Whitehouse, and the security of these people lies in the hands of the Secret Service. At the Whitehouse they not only have guards which are always on watch, they also have 24 hour surveillance to keep an eye on the building and its property at all times. Another huge role in which the Secret Service controls is the illegal fraud of any federal circumstance.
