Not to long after her birth Obi Umunna died but Ona refused to marry Abadgi. She becomes pregnant again and finally gives in to Abadgi and moves in. However Ona died in childbirth a long with the baby. .

             Amatokwu's junior wife let Nnu watch her son whenever she stayed with their husband. Nnu became very attached to the boy and even started to breast feed him. Her husband caught her feeding the baby he was upset so he beat her send her back to her father. Nnu was very depressed and her father had to find away to help her.
