Just Say No

Everyone wants young people to avoid the dangers of drugs and alcohol abuse. I strongly encourage this movement. If young people continue to use drugs their futures will be jeopardized as well as their appearance, and different forms of diseases can be diagnosed. Obviously, the consumption of drugs and alcohol can only lead to no good.
First, drugs will affect one's future in many aspects. Take academics for example. Surely a person that has been under the influence of drugs will not perform to his best capability. A recent article in Readers Digest pointed out that eighty-five percent of our nations dropouts have had some kind of experience with drugs and alcohol. Another consequence is, if a drug abuser gets arrested for being under the influence he will have to serve time in jail. If this addict has a family they will suffer a great deal to survive. Just imagin that you"re a housewife with four children and you just found out that your husband, the bread winner, was taken away from you. What would you do? How are you going to support the kids and pay the bills with out a job? Once the charge of drug and alcohol abuse is engraved in one's record, the job opportunities are drastically narrowed down. This persons dream of becoming any type of professional in any career is shot. Because one's record is ruined, finding a good paying job will be either extremely challenging or impossible. As you can see, drugs won't only hurt the abuser but it also affects the people they love.
Second, a persons appearance can say a lot about a person. For instance, drug users have a tendency to be dazed off, in their own little world. Since drugs and alcohol literally fry their brains users are consistently of task. The use of drugs and alcohol also add age. According to Seventeen Magazine, the biggest age adder is alcohol and drugs. Someone can be thirty years of age and look like a fifty year old because of the abuse of illegal drugs and alcohol.
