Stairs

There had been turmoil around the main gate while I was fixing the H bar and drawing lines for our football match. A couple of days ago, Hyun-jung had said that she and her fellow protesters were going to have a demonstration leading from our university to downtown, and she had looked a little bit nervous. I didn't know exactly what that meant, but it had come to me as an unpleasant piece of news because I could tell she had been spending a lot of days and nights without enough rest to prepare for the demonstration. I could guess that her eyes were going to be blood-shot and dry and I also could predict that her slender blood vessels, which were sometimes seen under her chin, were going to be clearer for the hard job. The Agitation at the main gate of university became yelling, the yelling increased, white smog appeared, and my nose became somewhat tingly, but I was already used to it because it was routine. I sniffed, and rubbed my nose. The gray sky was getting dark.
It rained. It rained so hard that I could hear the sound of the rain, which was beating on the helmet, very clearly. The Korean College football league game must be held even though tear bombs were blasting like fireworks, frightened screams were heard everywhere, and the whole field was soggy with rainwater, because the association fund wasn't rich enough to postpone prepared matches. .
Fourth quarter. Fourth down. 32 to 37. 18 seconds remaining. Twenty-six yards to touchdown. The rain, which ran down along my facemask and helmet, was still falling. My face was covered with the muddy water. The quarterback shouted, "Timeout!," signing with his hands as soon as the third down was finished, and the rest of the ten players huddled. Every player's blue uniform was muddy brown. I looked at the quarterback after glancing at the thumbnail broken by someone's football shoe. .
"This is the end. 26 yards isn't that far. We need just one good run.
