The forecourt now has foot and hand prints of two hundred actors and actresses, such as John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe and also recent block-buster actors such as Tom Cruise and Arnold Schwarzennegger. The visitors who come to see these foot prints and handprints have fun comparing their feet to that of their favorite actor and actress. I saw some tourists move in a circular fashion around the forecourt as if they were seeing an exhibit in a museum. While moving in a circular fashion, the visitors also visited the gift store and the photo center to get photos of them developed. .
According to Brian Chuan the director of the Hollywood-Highland project only about ten million of Los Angeles annual twenty-four million tourists visited Hollywood Boulevard and its famous Walk of Fame in 2001. Those tourists spent only an average of 23 minutes, most of it taking snapshots in front of the famous Chinese Theater (Byrne 1).
