Romeo & Juliet


            William Shakespeare was a famous playwright. He wrote about things like love and hate. One of his most recognized upon was the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet was an epic story. It was all about two star-crossed lovers. It shows two different themes. The story shows the hatred between two families, and the secret love of two lovers.
             The hatred was shared between the Capulet and Montague's. The chorus on (prologue 3-5) shows hatred through explaining that they have an ancient grudge, and they use people to kill each other. It says," From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean." (I.i.42, 66,67,and 70-72) Sampson, a Capulet makes an insulting jester to Abram a Montague. Sampson says," Nay, s they dare. I will bite my thumb at them, which is disgrace to them if they bear it." Tybalt has his sword at the Montague's drawn and says," What, art thou drawn among these heartless hinds?" He then talks about hating the Montague's he says," what drawn and talk peace I hate the word as I hate hell, all Montague's- In (I.v.56-61) Tybalt recognizes Romeo at the Montague at the Capulet party, Tybalt says," This, by his voice, should be a Montague." Tybalt becomes appalled by Rome's nerve to come to a Capulet party, so e wants to kill him, I quote," Now by the stock and honor of my kin, To strike him dead I hold it not sin." On (I.v.140) it shows that the one girl he loves, the daughter of a Capulet, is also his families" worst and only enemy. Romeo says," O dear account my life is my foe's debt." .
             Romeo and Juliet brought the secret love. (I.v.91-107) (I.v.108-109) Romeo and Juliet meet for the first time and, Romeo already wants to kiss her, Romeo says," My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss." He then goes on to say later," Then move not while my prayer's effect I take. Thus from my lips, by thine my sin is purged.
