The Routes To Success

With this in mind I am going to speak of success in the sense of what the public, the masses if you will, deem to be successful. These attributes are a good job, financial comfort, well liked, and well-rounded interactive life style, but most importantly a dream come true. Goals are a big part to success, for this argument's sake I will go further out on a limb, and state that if you don't have a goal you can not be successful. To be successful "in my eyes", you must do what you want to do with your life by having the least negative effect on others. Now how do reach this dream?.
Lets talk about talent first. When we first mention talent people seem to think of mainly two things, sports or something else that you can see on television. We say things like, "That guys got talent". In all fairness, everyone has talent in some area(s), but the ones I"m interested in are those who can rely on it as a successful life style. What about the kid in school who has a final tomorrow, but instead of studying he rents a movie and then goes out to dinner with his girlfriend, comes home and sleeps. Tired as all hell, wanders in to the exam room, takes the test, first one finished, and gets an A. "How the hell did he do that", people tend to remark. Does he have talent? I think so. Is it a good thing to get to go through school not having to work that hard, or bad? Why just school? Is it good to get success in life without having to work hard? Some will say yes, some no. .
I say its fine, as long as you do not intern produce negative effects on others. The talented CEO who downsizes his company to gain more profit, and puts hundreds of people out of a job, is not, to me, a success. Just because he may have a god given talent to be a leader, doesn't mean his success is promoted through stepping on and hurting others, that is wrong, and it can form a society of greed and total selfishness.
