Indians

.
The general history of colonial North America from an Indian perspective was first viewed as a good thing because it allowed the trading of goods that neither side has seen before. With these new items at hand, life would not be how it once was. "Wherever Europeans settled, intercultural commerce flourished, and even in areas far from colonial centers, expanded trade not only reordered Native economies but dramatically reshaped Native cultures in ways beyond European control or comprehension." The introduction of new tools and new ways of doing things, the old culture of Indians was beginning to fall to the wayside. With these new ideas and new tools, Indians began to reshape the culture they lived in to resemble that of their new found neighbors, the Europeans. As time passed and Indians became accustomed to the tools they traded for and used them for the purpose of their construction did life for the Indian become easier. "For Indian men and women, any number of everyday tasks became much easier." With trade as a booming business for Europeans and Indians, problems would soon occur among the Indian people. Different tribes wanted to trade with the settlers and corner the market on specific items the settlers were looking for and one such item were fur pelts. This fierce competition between Native groups on who will do trade with the Europeans would ultimately cause major conflicts among another. Now with this turbulent situation faced among Indians, dissention among people of a similar culture began to grow. Indians warred among themselves before the arrival of Europeans but the problems on why they fought were now on an economic level. Warring Indians fought among themselves in the past because of land usage, or tribal differences, now the Indians were fighting between one another for European recognition. Trading with the Europeans meant that Indian tribes could get precious metals that were forged into new weapons.
