Takes One To Know One

This essay is based on my own experiences in meeting so many people over my life time. I find that in the 43 years of my life all the people I have met are basically the same. It is pretty safe in my opinion to look at others as we see our selves. There is just one problem with this, most of us are not really honest with ourselves about who and what we are. Think about it, whatever you may hear about an individual is probably something you yourself have either done, tried to do or thought about. We have the nerve to say bad things about others when we are doing wrong ourselves. Too bad it always takes someone else to point it out to us about ourselves before we even consider ourselves just as bad as the other person. Even then we are defensive and in denial of the truth. Simple things like hand washing are gossip worthy when someone fails to wash but how many times have you forgotten the same thing or just didn't do it because of being in a hurry or just lazy? What we should say is. "Well, i gotta admit, I've done the same thing on occasion myself." wouldn't that just kill the gossip dead! Then everyone would begin to admit to sometimes not washing their hands. There would be stories from everyone about the time they didn't wash. We are all alike in more ways that we care to admit. How do I know about other people? Because it takes one to know one.
