             The Muslim Family.
The Muslim family was the patrilocal family and therefore traced down from the male side of the family, this therefore included the grand parents, their sons with their wives and their children. The daughters usually married and would become part of another family, very rarely did they stay with their parents, and this would be if they were either unmarried or returned home after divorce. There are two main reasons why these extended families were formed; firstly, living in this way helped the families financially, since a large group of people lived together in a relatively small area and performed their daily chores together. Another reason is because of emotional link, which still exists; therefore the children even after marriage continue to live with their parents.
