The Cold War

"The cold war was the inevitable global conflict between capitalism and communism".
Since 1945 to 1991 the world faced a non-violent war know as the Cold War. During lots of years historians have discussed if this global conflict between capitalism and communism was inevitable or not. Throughout this essay I will give my personal opinion arguing both sides of the statement. .
Lets start to analyze the facts that may let to assure as that the Cold War was an inevitable global conflict between capitalism and communism. To begin with, The Cold War was a struggle between conflicting universal values. In the West, the concepts of a market economy and a multi-party democracy were saw as necessity. In the East, single party communism and a command administrative economy were highly valued. The obvious conflict of ideas and obstinate nature of those who defended them were the driving force behind the Cold War. The two leaders were too ambitious of expanding their policies. For example, the Marshall Plan could have been seen as a capitalist plan for gaining support from the western part of Europe and then from the eastern. In fact, it gained support from, especially, Western Europe. By the same way, The Cominform could have been seen as a communist way of indoctrinating Eastern Europe. On the other hand, in 1949 the proclamation of a communist government in China make the Americans fear of an advancing tide of communism. To prevent an expansion of Marx system, USA got involved in the Korean and Vietnam wars which show that wherever communism could beat capitalism the Americans would intervene. This examples show that the principle of peaceful co-existence, proposed by Khruschev later, could never be achieved. Conflict between the two opposing victors of World War II was inevitable. .
However, the war could be avoided at some time. Both sides wanted their values and economic and political systems to prevail.
