Getting Unplugged In Order To Unwind

Most of them gave me the response of "that is a stupid assignment, you are going to cheat aren't you?" Once again I felt like I was doing something special that no one else could do. .
However, I began to wonder just exactly how I was going to plans for the weekend without being able to talk to any of my friends or guys I wanted to go on dates with. I came up with a solution. I just went to see them at their houses or workplaces. I came to realize why the phone was invented. It is so much easier to just call someone than to try to find them without knowing exactly where they are. Not to mention the fact that I had to do a lot of driving and I found myself having to buy a lot of gas. It's much cheaper to call than to drive around wasting gas. Although, all my friends were so glad that they got to see me during the week that it almost made it worth it. I felt like I take face-to-face communication for granted. I learned that just calling someone on the phone is very impersonal and actually visiting someone made me feel a lot happier and like I had accomplished a lot more than I normally do.
Days three and four were not fun at all. I had a horrible night sleep mostly due to the fact that I normally go to sleep with the television on. Well, without the television on I found myself hearing noises that weren't really there, tossing and turning, and having horrible nightmares. Reflecting on that I realized how I had become so accustom to falling asleep with the television on that it was very difficult to break my behavior patterns. The average person watches 4.4 hours of television a day (Vivian, pg. 3). I don't even come close to watching that much television but I still had a very hard time without it. It had become such an important part of my everyday life that it was almost like I had withdrawals from not being able to fall asleep with it on.
The other reason day four was bad was because it was Thursday.
