Privacy In The Information Age

Today you are required to provide a lot of information for the smallest things. You are asked to provide information such as: first and last name, middle initial, age, birthday, any siblings or children and their ages, parents" names, household income, pets, and your social security number on various types of applications, and forms for various organizations and reasons. At the end of any application or form you more often than not you have to provide them with a signature. All of the above information can link people to greater amounts of information about your personal life and possibly even your family's lives.
Take for example when you fill out a form for something as simple as grocery shoppers saving card and all the information you must provide them to simply save a few dollars each time you go grocery shopping. In a sense they are paying you for your information by giving you discounts. The grocery stores can then turn around and sell your information to third party companies and organizations for money in their pockets. The third party companies are the ones who call you want you to but their products or are the "junk-mail" senders we all hate.
