Russian Revolution


Most of them lived in poverty/poor farmers that could not even provide food for their families. The result, was that they were usually hungry sometimes even starve. The peasants, although freed from the serfdom, remained impoverished, burdened by the government and landlords with economic obligations. Throughout Nicholas" reign little was done to better the living conditions of the masses. Their dearest dream was to get hold of more good land. The fact that, the peasants worked long hours often 13-14 a day for wages that wasn't enough neither to buy food for their families nor even to pay their rent. Discontented in the way they were living their lives in poverty they would often organize strikes to try for a better deal that would later be put down by the government. The people wanted to reform the system if they could not they wanted to finish them completely. There were many revolutionary groups each planning to destroy the old system to put in new ideas instead. Clearly, there were struggles for power between different classes. The rich had plenty of money that owned the factories, mines and land; in turn was supported by the middle class people (meaning they were living of the rich). The peasants on the other hand were the workers in the factories and mines that gave all mankind's wealth that the rich men have. In so the peasants were deprived of their reward of profits that would be shared out fairly as the others, so that everyone can life a happier life. .
             Even so, the Russian soldiers faced difficulties led by the mismanagement of the government. The czar Nicholas 2nd who took personal command in an effort to bolster the military made the situation worst. When the offensive ended without success and with huge losses, .
             Morale in the Russian Army quickly deteriorated. Ammunition supplies had run out, many soldiers lacked shoes and sufficient clothing; adequate food supplies had cease reaching the front, but to the soldiers it seemed that the leaders callously ignored the losses of lives.
