Saving Private Ryan

1 man for 8 lives, will never make sense in my eyes. I do not see how anyone could send 8 men looking for 1 guy that may not even be alive. 8 potential soldiers wasting there ability to fight for 1 other soldier that may not even be alive is wrong. Even if the soldier is the last in its family alive, and a mother losing four sons, would be better then 8 mothers losing 1 each of there sons. I also believe it is a waste of the soldier's talents to search for another soldier that may not even want to come home, or may be half across the world. It may take years to find Ryan with more then 100,000 soldiers to search threw. Captain James and his crew were lucky to find Private Ryan in the short amount of time they did. I also believe Private Ryan was stubborn not wanting to go home when he had the chance to. If Ryan where to leave before the final battle he had fought in he would have done a favor for the soldiers that died. I believe Ryan killed the Captain Milller and some of his crew by not leaving when he should have. Therefore my beliefs are that 1 man is not worth 8 lives, and Captain Millers mission was pointless because they lost more lives then they saved.
