The Pearl Main Events

            Summary of major events in The Pearl.
             The first major event in The Pearl is when the baby is stung by the scorpion. If Kino can't get enough money to pay the doctor then the baby may die because the doctor refuses to treat the baby without payment first. In the hope of finding a pearl in the lake near the town to pay for the doctor's services, and after all of his and his wife's prayers, he found "The Pearl of the World". Kino tried to sell it the next day but the buyers tried to cheat Kino with offers way too low. He refused the low offers and he walked away knowing that meant that the buyers would not buy it from him if he asked them to again. He would have to go somewhere else to sell the pearl. .
             Kino had no options but to leave town the next day and try to sell the pearl somewhere else. But, that night Kino was attacked when he went to look at the lake and decide what to do next. He knew then that he had to leave town because he was not safe. .
             Early the next morning Kino awoke and found that the pearl was gone and realized that his wife had taken it. He had to stop her from throwing it into the lake so he ran to the lake and took the pearl from her hitting her in the face. As he was walking home he was attacked again and in self defense he killed the man that attacked him. As he got back to his house he found it was on fire and his wife had barely gotten out in time saving the baby and the water skins. .
             The next important thing is when Kino and his wife are running and Kino sees the trackers. Kino knows how badly they want that pearl and from then on he is very cautious, going up to the mountains to hide from the hunters while also trying to get to the other town.
             The last main event is when the hunters are camping near the cave where Kino and his wife are hiding. Kino tries to go kill the guard with the rifle first and then shoot the other hunters. But when he gets to where the hunters are camped out, Kino's baby whimpers and the guard shoots at where the sound is coming from killing the baby.
