Immortality

.
Clonaid, which was founded by the 55,000 members of the Raelian Movement, an international religious organization believes that cloning babies is only the first step to immortality. The Raelians eventually hope to develop adult clones into which humans could transfer their brains. "Cloning a baby is just the first step. For me, it's not so important," Rael, the leader of this movement said. "It's a good step, but my ultimate goal is to give humanity eternal life through cloning." This group is trying to create a method so an adult clone will be able to be produced without the aging process. Then they would transfer the memories and also transfer the personality of the existing human into the clone. The person shall wake up after death in this new body, just like they had had a good nights sleep. This would make the person immortal as memories and personality could be continuously placed into a new body, they would never cease to exist.
Clonaid say that this new technology should become a reality within the next twenty years.
Cryonics, simply stated, is the rapid cooling of a person's body, usually in liquid nitrogen, in order to preserve the tissue, cellular and molecular structure. This is done in the hopes that future advancement in science and technology will be developed for the person to be restored and treated for diseases like cancer, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. In doing this hopefully restoring the person back to good health and to have them continue their lives. .
There are two types of cryonics, Neuropreservation and Full Body suspension. Neuropreservation is based on the understanding that medicine will eventually be able to regenerate all tissues except the brain through such methods as cloning, or the head will be able to be surgically reattached to another body. Therefore the objective of Neuropreservation is to preserve the brain, where all memories are stored and all body functions are controlled from.
