Future Of LD Students

            Times have changed many issues surrounding Special Education Laws, policies and procedures. Time has even had its impact on the establishments of different types of disabilities. I believe that in time the requirements and criteria for each category will be alter in some fashion. I really believe this will be true for the LD category. Learning Disabled is not one of those categories that are discrete and specific in nature. It often incorporated many degrees and well as people who just don't neatly fall in one of the other thirteen recognized categories. .
             For this reason, I believe that they will or that they should but some degrees like mild, moderate, severe or specify the certain areas that students are disabled in. I think that by doing this they could do many things. First those with mid disabilities can be included in the regular education and just given the help that hey nee din the certain areas and that those with the more severe forms can be given their instruction in the most appropriate setting. 2) By giving subcategories many children can be taught in the specific method necessary for their learning style. By breaking this down it would be more sufficient for both special educators and general educators because it would take as long for people to figure out how or using what method and LD student should be taught.
             As far as how I fit in this scenario, I think that we as professionals should be trained to deal with specific disabilities. Science teacher had their degrees and science because that's where their mastery lies. I think that the more knowledge a person has in a specific area, the more skilled they are in that area. In addition by using that skill you become an expert. We need experts in LD teaching LD not just teachers who have taken 1 or 2 classes.
             In closing a brief answer to the question is that future LD children will be mainstreamed more and regular educators will need or have to be trained to teach them.
