Subway's

Being somewhat of a skeptic myself, I tend to criticize the commercials and their motives and intentions rather than be persuaded by them. On the other hand, most of the other members of my family and circle of friends has been what I call "sucked in- by these ads in that when they come on, they just sit there and watch without realizing that it is impossible to lose a hundred pounds just by eating a pure Subway sandwich diet and doing nothing else in that same effort. In fact, there have been times when others in my own family have verbally praised Jared (whom, remember, they do not know personally) for having been so committed to his goal and having accomplished it. I personally don't believe that our friend Jared lost all that weight just by eating at Subway. Actually, I don't even think that Subway had much to do with it at all. I tend to be skeptical to the extreme and overt in my opinions and comments, so this is what I feel has happened as to Jared's great weight loss. It is my opinion that Jared underwent an intense period of weight loss by doing things like extreme amounts of exercising supervised by a personal trainer. Also, I feel that he probably had doctors tell him that along with his rigorous workout routine, he needed to have a healthy, well-balanced diet. A suggestion as to what constitutes a healthy diet was most likely made which included hoagie/sub sandwiches. Somewhere along the line, someone at Subway must have heard of heard of this Jared guy who lost a lot of weight and they decided to contact him and make an advertisement proposal. That's where I feel it all came from. The main reason I decided to use this advertising campaign as the subject for this paper is because of the discussions and disagreements my family and I have had about this Jared guy and his character. Since we all had our own personal opinions and we all felt so strongly about them, I realized that there had to be something going on which was causing us to feel like we had to defend our positions.
