Character Types

            Character types are mainly what make a person who he or she is. It is what drives them to do something or what holds them back from doing what they would like to do. Each character is different and has its own personality driven by some part of the tripartite soul. .
             After taking the platonic character type quiz I discovered that I am a timarchic character type. Timarchic characters are driven mainly by the spirit part of the soul. It is often times easy to spot a timarchic character because they are usually doing whatever it takes to be noticed. They are for the most part energetic, competitive, self-assertive, and are always pushing to be the best. If they are not the best they feel that they have failed no matter what type of outcome derives from the situation. These characters will work very hard to get to the top of whatever they are pushing for but once they have achieved there goal they often fall out of the picture never to be seen again. This then is one of the biggest problems with being number one at something. Once they are the best they have nothing else to push for in life. They have gone all the way up so now the only way to go is down. That is what the timarchic character fears the most. This brings them to be very insecure, jealous, and scared of not being noticed. They will usually look down at the success of others because this takes the spotlight off of them and places it on another individual. This is why timarchic characters will never really reach true happiness. No matter what they do they are fearful of not making that lasting impression and not making it to the top of the pedestal. .
             In a lot of ways I can really see how they would regard me as a timarchic type character. I am very energetic and competitive. I want to dominate everything that I am doing and if I can not do that then I feel as if I have failed. I worked very hard to get to state in the three point competition but once there I realized that to be the best I was going to have to beat everyone there.
