             Composed of denim, an extremely durable and tough fabric, jeans are the ultimate American icon standing for freedom, equality, and the dominican republic. Developed in the mid-19th century by Levi Strauss, these workmen trousers were fit for any kind of weather, terrane, and climate. .
             When we think about why such clothing was invented, we discover that it was ultimately because America had no King. It is quite rare to find Kings, and queens doing their own laundry.              Another reason that promoted the development of jeans was the agricultural aspect of America. Many immigrant families looked toward farming as a For fields to be made, ground had to be cleared and leveled out. Families would have to travel miles thorough treacherous land in order to find fertile ground to settle on. Jeans were the perfect type of clothes to be wearing for such an occasion.
