What Are We Teaching Our Children

Each and every one of us are teachers and are taught by someone or something. This is what is known as socialization. Socialization is the process by which a society transmits its culture and values to its members. Children are strongly affected by socialization. .
The television show I decide to watch was "Doug", a children's show on Nickelodeon. This particular television show teaches children about themselves through the main character Doug Funnie. Doug Funni's life is not always full of laughs, giggles, and good times. He gets pushed around by a bully, can not exactly talk smooth around his dream girl, and runs into problems and predicaments throughout each and every day of his life. Through the help of his dog and best friend, Doug usually makes it through each day. Doug is good at his creative thinking; he is like a book, full of all kinds of information packed into a young boys body. Doug is just like any other normal kid, and through this show he expresses how live really is not all fun and games. This show shows young viewers how to get through each day with a smile on your face, even when the going does get tough. .
This show has many good qualities. This show is represented as a colorful comedy cartoon. The show is very entertaining, and for me as a nineteen year old to be saying that, it has to say something. Each episode of "Doug" has a lesson or a moral. It allows the children to imagine with Doug and it allows the children to feel as if they are in Doug's shoes. "Doug" shows how important your friends and family are to you. This show never has violence, but it is not always a happy environment for Doug and his friend's ether. This show allows the children to see what real life is like, and the steps Doug takes as he grows from a young child into a young adolescent. .
I did not find many bad qualities, on the other hand, besides the age of Doug and all his friends.
