Honors Program
What do you feel you will contribute to the HPSC? The Honors Program at the University of Georgia brings together one of the most gifted, diverse, and active groups of people not only on campus, but in the country. I am totally honored to be a part of this “institution.” If lucky enough to be appointed to the HPSC, I will be able to bring my diverse background, my various international travel experiences, my love for extracurricular activities, and an overall point of view that will be able to express the opinions of many people. Any organization or event that I commit myself to, I obligate myself to perform the tasks at hand at the fullest of my abilities and do not believe in doing anything half-heartedly. I consider myself a “leader” and enjoy taking responsibilities, making decisions, and being held accountable for my actions. Thinking how well this worked at high school, it makes me extremely excited to think that at a place like UGA, where there are SO MANY different types of people with various backgrounds, what a huge success this could be. People could meet each other, learn about each other, enjoy dances, songs, artwork, and sample various foods. It could be totally made up by Honors students and faculty. This idea combines both a social aspect, as well as an academic learning approach and I think these types of events are the most successful. Strictly on the social side, I think a dance with a theme that is exotic, such as “Far East Asia” or something to this effect would be extremely fun and allow people to explore different cultures and enjoy seeing each other in costumes and listening to music they would otherwise not know much about. Academically, I would love to do anything with politics and Americas role in the world and the perception that other countries have of America. I think too
