Narrative Cliche - The Knight in Shining Armor

Mondays sucked; nothing would change that. The crippling, impending doom of dragging herself out of bed after a long weekend being plenty enough to start her day off on the wrong side of the bed. But this Monday had started off particularly awful - Jaime finding herself rolling over to glance at her alarm clock only to find the numbers flashing, a tell-tale sign that she'd slept through her alarm, and that she was over an hour late for her class of the day. .
The brunette stumbled out of bed, slammed her toe into the doorframe, and then caught herself with a rather colorful exclamation. Needless to say, as she dug her teeth into her bottom lip, it wasn't all that great of a start. She rushed around the apartment somewhat glad that her chatty roommate was long gone for her early morning shift across campus. With a shirt tossed on here, pair of sweats there, laptop and flash drive stuffed in a bag, the round-faced college student was gone, racing out the door with a waffle in her mouth. .
And not all that ready for a terrible, no good, rotten day she knew was ahead of her.
When she stumbled through the doors of her Chemistry course all eyes drifted to her, a terrible turn of events all in itself and on any other day of the week, her eyes would have drifted down to settle on the floor. But today they met a glower; a narrowed, distasteful, glare as she made her way towards one of the closest open seats in the lecture hall. .
The professor didn't even bother to glance up.
She took a minute after that, allowing herself to drag a hand through her shoulder length hair as she took in a deep, shaky breath. Better late than never. Jaime chimed to herself before dragging her computer out of her bag, settling it down on her desk like the other hundred kids in the room. Her left foot moved as she dug through her bag, rubbing over the top of her other shoe as if it'd soothe the painful reminder of her morning as she jabbed her usb into its port with dirty mumbling about idiotic and unfair doorframes.
