These incidents are showing that the Indian ways are better and the whites' are terrible. They eventually, help him get home.
5. The story is shaped like a timeline. It talks about his journey, which has a beginning and end. This tells the reader about the trek and it explains the reason behind it. This engages the reader. .
6. I can see that the narrator often mentions the woods and the blue winds. Contrast and repetition is very important in this story. The author frequently talks about the difference between the whites and the Indians. Repetition is significant because when he keeps repeating things about home, this reminds him of his reason to embark on this journey.
Character and Characterization.
1. Identify with the main character with some extent. I am like him because sometimes I question myself whether I am Canadian or Indian. After living my whole life in a white society I sometimes wonder if I am a proud Indian. My family is Indian and my background is Indian also. I also compare my culture and white culture.
2. My response to the character changes to a great extent because at first I thought he was an average kid who doesn't know his identity. However, during his journey to his hometown, he thinks long and hard about the differences in the cultures. He finds his identity when he arrives and becomes more mature.
