Adam, Eve and the Book of Genesis

I woke up in a panic and quickly checked my alarm clock. Over slept I grabbed my back pack and my speech that I had slaved over for weeks, still nervous to present it to the class. I ran into the classroom, cheeks flushed and out of breath. I knew I was late and immediately felt the teacher's disapproval eyes as I walked up to the front of the classroom to start my speech. I looked up to see Ms. Hale's wide eyes staring back at me, I assumed it was because of my tardiness. I turned back to the front to look out into my peer's eyes only to see them giggling, gawking, and pointing at me. Some girls in the front row were snickering and whispering to each other, I quickly felt my cheeks heat up as they turned a vibrant red. I slowly looked down and was petrified to see that I had forgotten to put on clothes. Face bright red I ran out of the classroom as quick as my feet could carry me. Everyone has had this dream at least once in their life, as soon as you realize your humility with being naked your first instinct is to run and hide. Adam and Eve may have been the first human beings to feel this shyness and embarrassment. In the book of Genesis we learn all about the story of Adam and Eve and the tragedy of Cain and Able. It's almost impossible to read these stories without a thousand questions swarming in your head, what do these stories tell us about God? , what do these stories tell us about human beings -- our natures, relationships, etc?, and what do these stories tell us about evil, the nature and manifestations of it?.
What do these stories tell us about God? It's hard to see him in any way but a creator of life, a holy king, and a stern father type. These stories tell us that we are breathing and alive today because his holiness breathed into Adams nostrils and took Adams rib to make Eve. That we have crop and food today because his holiness wished it to be. They tell us of our long past and ancestors and the first sin that took place.
