The Beatles Becoming a Studio Band

The Beatles was an English rock band that formed in Liverpool, in 1960. With John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era of their time. John Lennon created the band in 1957 and at first, they briefly called themselves the Blackjacks, before changing their name to the Quarrymen after discovering that a respected local group was already using the other name. Fifteen-year-old Paul McCartney joined as a rhythm guitarist shortly after he and Lennon met that July. In February 1958, McCartney invited his friend George Harrison to watch the band. The fourteen-year-old auditioned for Lennon, impressing him with his playing, but Lennon initially thought Harrison was too young to join. Ringo Starr was the last member to join the band in 1962 after replacing Pete Best because George Martin complained to Brian Epstein, The Beatles manager, about Pete Best's poor drummer skills. The Beatles took America by storm during their famous first visit, wowing the millions who watched them during their historic television appearances on The Ed Sullivan show in February 1964 (History). Contributing factors that led in the decrease of The Beatles performing live and growing a studio band are: touring was no longer enjoyable; sometimes dangerous, a deteriorating level of performance quality, and an increased level of studio sophistication. .
"On August 19, 1964, more than six months after taking the East Cost by storm, the "Fab Four" traveled to California to take the stage at the Cow Palace in San Francisco for opening night of their first-ever concert tour of North America." (History) After the show, is when The Beatles had their first issue with performing live when George Harrison commented to press that the group's favorite candy is jelly beans; the fans started to pelt them with jelly beans after each concerts.
