             • The Egyptians had specialist doctors who they went to to be healed. They also believed that Gods and Godesses e.g. the godess Sekhmet (of war) could treat the ill and priests who also treated the sick they were known as hearing priests.
            
             • The Egyptians knew about the heart, pulse, liver, lungs and the blood, however they did not understand the proper roles of these parts of the body. They thought the heart was the most important organ as blood flowed through over 40 channels from the heart to parts of the body, and water essential for life.
            
             • Egyptians thought disease was caused by undigestede food rotting in the bowels, these let of gases which seeped along the channels causing disease in different places and preventing the normal flow of blood, air and water.
            
             • To prevent and treat illness they would use herbs, surgery, magic or charms. They bathed in water which had been sanchified, a sick person may have also stayed the night in the sanatorium. Most commonly used ingredients were honey, djaret, frankenstine, salt and dates for 3 days every month they would perge themselves, they thought all disease stemmed from food, they practiced circumcision and they shaved there bodies every 3rd day to keep clean.
            
             • Egyptians developed in medicine from trading across the nile they made many discoveries, by living in a society they were forced to advance medically, they had good communication amongst themselves and other tribes, they prayed for awnsers to cures.
            
             • The nile was very important because it was used for transport, water, food and religious ceremonies.
