Physical fitness

Physical fitness is a necessity for everyone regardless of race, culture, or sex in order to live a long healthy life. In order to achieve physical fitness, you must be able to perform daily tasks vigorously, while avoiding diseases related to a lack of activity. There are many benefits of physical fitness like endurance, good figure, muscular strength, and flexibility. Some mental benefits include a positive attitude, high self-esteem, and the production of endorphins, which act as a natural painkiller.

There have been many benefits of physical activity, which were always praised throughout history. It was not until the 1970s, that enough information was available on physical fitness. The American College of Sports Medicine and the American Heart Association has since begun issuing physical activity recommendations to the public. Some of these recommendations include cardio-respiratory exercises and sustained periods of vigorous activity. The past several years the ACSM, CDC, AHA, PCPFS, and NIH have also recommended regular, moderate physical activity.

They are also made from the male hormone testosterone. Studies show that over a period of time steroids can take a heavy toll on a person's health. The abuse of steroids is associated with higher risks for heart attacks and strokes. Steroids also increase the risk for liver problems. Steroid abuse can also cause serious body changes. These include genital shrinking in men, masculinity in women, acne, and hair loss.

Obesity is a condition in which one weighs 20 percent more than normal weight. Being overweight is very unhealthy, and is a substantial risk to ones health and life. It also increases the risks for several life threatening conditions including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Younger people tend too be more vulnerable because they have more time on their hands for the obesity to take toll. Half of America’s youth ages 12- 21 are not exercising vigorously on a regular basis. This is more common in black females (21%) than white females. Since many teens are not exercising, many of them end up fat with weak bones, muscles and joints.

Stretching is also important while exercising. It helps prevent injuries and other serious harms to your body. Stretching also helps improve flexibility and range of motion throughout your entire body. They can also strengthen your body’s muscles, but if done improperly can also cause injury.

Warming up before any physical activity is important. It is a good idea to jog or walk a few minutes. The reason this is done is to raise your body temperature and to warm up your body’s muscles. It is also crucial that you cool down after you finish exercising. If you don’t you may feel dizzy or nauseated. Not cooling down could also result in cramped, sore musc
