The children are the ones who are much more exposed to television, because they take birth in this world, where television is a common household commodity. Thus, inevitably the television has and is influencing the children. The effect of television on children can be broadly categorized into mainly two: a positive effect and a negative one. The television has a lot of advantages and thus, it has been successful in casting its positive influence on the children. The television has almost unlimited values as a medium of mass education. Thus, children can gain a lot of knowledge just by watching TV. The various programs broadcasted by the television can really help in the intellectual development of a child. Television gives a lot of information about things ranging from animal life, cultures, science and technology and as a whole, of our world and our lives.
Thus, we can say that the children who watch television can grow more quickly intellectually than those who cannot get access to television. Even large numbers of schools and colleges have adopted what has commonly come to be known as 'audio-visual' means of teaching.
